Advisory Board Member
Originally from Charleston, S.C., Julie moved to Pinellas County in 1985. She received her degree from USF in Tampa and calls Oldsmar home today. Julie is a life long animal enthusiast. She has grown up around horses, dogs (from Great Danes to Toy Poodles), cats, fish and hermit crabs. Her love of all creatures, great and small was nurtured by her father from a very young age. She began animal rescue as a college student accompanied by her husband; and they still share this passion today.
Julie became familiar with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue while looking for a foster or permanent home for a kitten that her husband found in dire shape located inside an old warehouse targeted for destruction. This kitten was taken in by a St. Francis Board member and still lives with her today. Impressed with the organizations ability to spring into action to help, she committed to volunteer her time with the organization. Since Fall of 2004, Julie has served as a Board member, Officer and Fund Raising Coordinator and Dog Foster Mom.
Julie works full time leading an Internal Audit Department for a publicly traded company based in Atlanta, GA. She shares her home proudly with 5 dogs, 4 of which are rescues.
