Pilar has been living in the Tampa Bay area since 1992 except for a four year leave to the Windy City, Chicago. Pilar started volunteering with St. Francis in 2001 and returned as a volunteer when she moved back to the area in 2006. She also volunteered with another no-kill rescue in Chicago. She is an avid animal lover and works on the cat care team for St. Francis. Her dream is to establish a no-kill rescue/sanctuary for all animals where no animal would ever be turned away for lack of space. She is married and has 4 cats of her own all of which are rescue animals. She currently works as a registered nurse for the past 9 years, specializing in the ER for the last 5 years.
