Adoptions

To adopt this animal from St. Francis, you must first fill out this Adoption Agreement form and submit it. The form will be carefully reviewed by an adoption counsellor. We try to get applications reviewed as quickly as possible. If we have problems contacting your references, this will delay the process. Most disapprovals result either from a negative veterinary reference, a "no pets" policy by landlords, or a difference in philosophy regarding the treatment of animals. St. Francis Society is a privately owned, all volunteer organization. We have strict guidelines for adoption approval and our volunteers have the right to refuse adoption applicants based on their own judgment.

Once an application is approved, the adopter is notified and can arrange to pick up their new pet. There are certain items that you must have before we will release the pet. A volunteer will be happy to assist you with shopping for your new friend before leaving our Adoption Center. You will also receive a copy of the pets health records and a packet of information put together especially for you and your new pet by one of our volunteers.

Age:9 yrs 6 months
Weight:25 lbs
Fur:Medium
  • My story: Ellie is an adorable, sweet, affectionate and happy little girl, as you can see from her photos. She is 8 years old, obedient and really smart. She loves to snooze in her crate, is house broken, knows basic commands like sit, stay, drop it and give paw. She listens very well, jumps in the bath when you tell her to (ha, ha!) and will stay when you open the door. Don't let her age fool you, she still has lots of love and spunk to share! She loves being outside, chasing lizards, bugs, rolling in the grass and generally entertaining us humans! As such, she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She loves going for long walks in the park, too. Inside, she loves to share the couch or chair with you. While not a lap dog, she does love attention and wants to be near you whenever possible; she will follow you around the house and loves nothing more than to sleep under the covers with you. We have tried to introduce her to other dogs and as long as it is done properly...she is living with six other dogs...but the Princess would probably prefer to be the only dog, and dog parks will be out of the question. She is such a little lover, won't you give this sweet girl a chance at a happy furever home? Good with Cats: Yes | Good with Dogs: Yes | Good with Children: No Small Children

Special Needs: Takes Allergy pill daily and is on special diet for prevention of frequent urinary tract infections
