My story: Sylvester was left in a dirty old carrier outside petsmart with a note for St. Francis to help him. My story: The Spice cat lost her home when her owners had to move. She has a very beautiful calico/tortie coat that is quite unusual. She had several dogs and small children in her former home and was fine with them, but has not been with other cats. She is very sweet, loves attention, loves to sit in your lap or lay in your arms and snuggle. She also rolls around on the floor or likes to lay in your lap and get scratched and rubbed. She is exceptionally sweet and really deserves a second chance at a loving home. She has been cross-eyed since birth, but it makes her all the more endearing. She may hiss and moan at first, but is not aggressive and bonds very quickly, within 2-3 days. She eats wet or dry food, has impeccable litter box habits, and allows her claws to be trimmed if you do just 3 or 4 at a time. Spice will make a great and loving family friend and companion.

No snubs from this girl. While I was the subject of a cruelty case, you'll see that I don't hold grudges and I'm not shy. Plus, I’m tidy in the personal hygiene department. My story: Her story: She was the "comfort" cat of a man who was diagnosed with HIV. His doctor recommended that Maggie be totally declawed as well as filing down her teeth (to avoid any possible infection since his immune system was compromised). When he died, a friend brought her to his home w. 4 other cats who never accepted her. Because she couldn't defend herself, she was kept in the kitchen with her food & water all day. At night, the cats were allowed to interact but they ate Maggie's food & went after her. When her second owner was about to move to Ft. Lauderdale for a job, he couldn't find anyone to take her so asked me. I took her with the idea of fostering her for a short period. I have two cats w. claws (both abandoned) who tried to actually make friends w. her but she soon became the "alpha" cat, hissing & batting at them. The vet estimates her age to be about 7 or 8. Few months ago, I had her teeth cleaned, 2 had broken down so were extracted. She has a crooked stump of a tail (looks like it was broken @ some pt) She likes to lay in the sun on my enclosed patio & growl @ birds & squirrels (she never catches anything!) She eats any kind of dry food & 1/4 can of wet in the PM. She needs a home where she is the only cat. Of course, she can't claw the furniture. Maggie had an unfortunate beggining and now deserves a loving permanant home where she can live out her life in peace and safety. My story: I was rescued from a nasty trailer park where I was living in deplorable conditions with my "family"who allowed me to have at least 3 litters and didn't take very good care of me. A nice lady finally took me to be spayed. I didn't respond to the anesthesia well and I coded and died on the table. The vet team worked hard and brought me back. Noone knows for sure but I was probably blind before my surgery. I am a very nice girl who has had a not so nice life. Everyone says I deserve a wonderfulhome. My story: I am a gorgeous cat who was about to be put outside even tho I am declawed because I started peeing outside the litter box. Rather than take me to the vets, the owner was just going to put me outside. St. Francis took me to the vets where it was determined I had bladder stones which is what I was trying to tell my owner - hello! The stones have been removed and the only thing recommended was for me to be on the dry science diet c/d diet. Vet says stones not very likely to come back so I am good to go. I need a home with someone who will have patience because I have been thru a lot and am still a little scared but am coming around nicelyl I use the litter box faithfully now, by the way.

My story: He is 6 yrs old and very loving. Wants to be a lap cat. His owner passed away and when the family/friends were emptying the house because it sold, Henri was put out of the house to fend for himself. A nice lady in the neighborhood was feeding him but unable to keep him as her cat would not accept Henri. He was covered head to toe in fleas and his fur is thin in places but is growing back nicely after his bath. He gets along with other cats and dogs. My story: My foster Mom calls me Miss Kitty but I’m sure I’ll like any name you choose. I’m a petite little lady with a little voice and a tail that is a little shorter than most. I don’t like loud noises especially from the garbage truck. I like to be petted and gently brushed and when I feel safe, I’ll roll over and show you my belly. I get along well with my foster mom’s old dog, but I had to tap him on the nose a couple of times to tell him to move out of my way. My story: His name is Toto, and the Vet said he is about 5 years old. I rescued him from the street. I believe Toto was abandoned because he acts like a house cat and loves being indoors just sleeping and being a loving cat. From the first time I met him about a year ago by my door he was very friendly and mellow, he would let me pet him and play with him. Throughout the year I kept seeing him and though he belonged to someone in my neighborhood but each time he look a bit rougher and he was losing weight. I kept feeding him and leaving food for him o my door step and whenever I had the chance to see him I’ll sit next to him while he ate. He was always alert and a bit stressed jumping every time he heard a noise. Then, I did not see him for like 3-4 months and I was really worried. When I finally saw Toto again he looked like he was attacked by other cats and very skinny. It broke my heart and I was convinced he was homeless so I took him in. He was never afraid of my dogs so I suspect there were dogs were he used to live. He is a happy and mellow cat, he loves to play with my other cats and just lays down on my bed and loves being petted, specially on his head. He is great with kids, my friend’s kids who are 3 and 7 love to come and visit him because he lets them pet him. I love to see him so relaxed now and just being a cat, he is no longer anxious and jumping at every little noise he hears, he certainly feels safe now. He is up to date in all his shots, I placed a microchip on him as well and he has been neutered. He will make a great pet, but given his age if introduced to other cats it will take some adjustment just like it happen when I introduced him to mine, but once that phase is over he gets along just fine with other cats and dogs. My story: I was dropped off at a vet in town and they were just not equipped for a little fellow like me, but they knew someone who was. My story: “Socks” was fortunate to stumble across the home of a veterinarian who is taking good care of him but cannot bring him inside due to other pets. He is gaining weight nicely and is incredibly friendly...dying for some attention but still a little bit skittish if you move too fast. He is neutered, de-wormed and de-flea'd and will have his rabies shortly. The vet is pretty sure he used to be an indoor cat because he seems to want to run inside the house without much hesitation. My story: Angie is a beautiful kitten with quite a story. A woman's neighbor had company drive over in a rented truck from Orlando. The day after the visitors arrived, they noticed a tiny black kitten stuck insided the truck, above the wheel. No one had ever seen this kitten before and no one knows how she could have survived the drive, but here she is. She had burns on the right side of her body from her adventure, but with expert care she has recovered beautifully! Angie is a quiet, shy girl. She isn't a lap cat, but she does like to perch on your shoulder and she loves head rubs. She tries to act non-commital about getting attention, but once you're petting her, she has quite a purr! Angie does great with other cats and loves to play. She would do great in another home with a friendly cat close to her age. She has been "adopted" by a 2 year old kitty at her foster home and she never lets her Big Sis out of her sight. She would also do best in a quiet home without young children. Angie has been spayed and tested negative for FIV/FeLk. She also has been dewormed and has had the appropriate vaccines for her age. Her approximate DOB is May 2010.

My story: Boy does Chance know how to get into trouble! He was first sighted one rainy afternoon high up in a tree in the parking lot of a busy shopping center. He screamed and screamed for help, but the closer we got to him, the higher he went. Eventually a can of stinky sardines enticed him out of the tree. Was his adventure over? Not even close! Chance then decided to hide out in the engine of a car. Fortunately, with the help of a lot of caring, patient people, Chance was rescued and now he is ready for his drama-free forever home! Chance is very friendly. If you want a lover-boy, Chance is your guy. He hates to be alone! He loves to be loved. His favorite pose is feet in the air waiting on a belly-rub. My story: Hello! I am a beautiful pumpkin-colored super-friendly neutered male kitty. I had a home with another kitty & 2 dogs & I made friends with everyone in my neighborhood. I had a good life - until my owners moved away & abandoned me. When I was found by my foster mom/dad I was starving, lonely & confused. I’m such a good boy – I don’t know why they didn’t want me anymore! My foster mom/dad brought me to their house & have been feeding me & keeping me safe. My story: My sisters and I were rescued by a nice lady doing some trapping of feral cats in a bad neighborhood of drug addicts. The homeowner just happened to mention us and that our mom hadn't been around for a few days. We were only ten days old. He had dunked us in Gatorade because he thought "we could just lick it off and it would be good for us". He then put us back under his truck soaking wet. One of our sisters died. Thankfully, we were rescued and nursed back to health. Now I'm ready to meet my new family.

My story: Ozzy is a hearing impaired kitty in need of a special home. Ozzy needs to be placed in a home with another kitty. Kittens with hearing issues use the reactions of other kittens and or cats in place of hearing. Due to his hearing, we perfer a home without dogs or small children. Other than his hearing he is a normal kitten. He was hand raised, and is very sweet. He loves to play and is very busy. When picked up he cuddles into your arms and purrs. What a sweet, sweet boy he is. Ozzy is also a bobtailed Hemingway, when he was a tiny baby he looked like one of flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz, hence the name Ozzy.
