Subject: Fox 13 News Story - Abandoned Rescue
Some of you may have viewed a segment on Fox 13 news at 10 p.m. last night regarding a woman, Rebecca Fernald, who collected donations as a 501(c)3 named Sunnybrooke Farms Rescue in Pasco County and recently abandoned over 40 cats and kittens--including week old kittens, cats with medical conditions not being cared for, injuries, living in deplorable conditions, infested with fleas, and malnourishsed due to being fed RICE--yes, rice. Some of the kittens discovered died before help arrived or soon after.
Below is a link to pictures of many of the cats in need of help. You can help by fostering or adopting a kitty, or by making a donation to the St. Francis Society Animal Rescue organization as they continue to search for fosters and place the kitties. Donating is easy via PayPal on the St. Francis Society website Help Us page. Please indicate in the comments field that your donation is for the Sunnybrooke Farms Animals. You may also mail your donation in to the address at the bottom of this page.
If you are interested in fostering or giving a home to a needy kitty who has been rescued, please contact Kathy Walvoord, Cat Care Coordinator for St. Francis Society, at furballsrus@gmail.com. Photos may be viewed via the link below. The video shown last night was even worse.
View PhotosThis woman has apparently done this before and was fined $80,000 in Hernando County. She will probably set up shop somewhere else, only to harm more unfortunate and innocent animals, and take more money from donors under the guise as a caring rescue. The names on the documents for Sunnybrooke Farms are Rebecca Fernald and Linda Sue Langone. Any information regarding these individuals should be reported. Cynthia Smoot of Fox 13 is covering the case. Thank you for reading! Please spread the word. You can also email Cynthia Smoot at WTVT to support the coverage of this story and urge them to run it again--this will help raise awareness, and possibly catch this awful woman, as well as increase donations and parties interested in helping the many kitties who need to be placed.
