Board Secretary
Dharma Medina has been involved with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue since 2007. She spent her first two years in the organization as a kenneler and volunteer in the Adoption Center, as well as collaborating in fundraising events. She loved every minute she spent helping cats and dogs, and therefore became a Board Member in 2009. Her responsibilities included event coordination and managing the Help Desk. Dharma’s passion for all animals started at a very young age. Since she can remember, she has been surrounded by loving animals. At age five, Dharma lived with two dogs, a cat, a turtle, a chicken and a native non-poisonous garden snake. She became involved in animal rescue at age 12, when she started finding homes for abandoned cats in her neighborhood. Her college years led to the development of her dreams in the animal rescue field, when she became involved in wildlife research and rescue. Years later, she found St. Francis while looking for help for an abandoned momma cat and her kittens. She found in St. Francis an amazing group of loving and dedicated volunteers, and an unforgettable group of friends. She lives with her significant other (also a volunteer!), and two beautiful cats that remind her every day of the power of a best friend’s unconditional love.
