Pilar Topping

Board Director

Pilar Topping has been a St. Francis Society Board member since 2008 and is our Silver Whiskers program coordinator. Pilar has been living in the Tampa Bay area since 1992 except for a four-year leave to the Windy City, Chicago. Pilar began volunteering with St. Francis in 2001 and returned as a volunteer when she moved back to the area in 2006. She was saddened to learn of the thousands of unwanted animals in the area and joined St. Francis to help make a difference and give as second chance to as many homelesss animals as possible. She grew up with animals (mostly cats) and developed a love for all animals from an early age. Her dream is to establish a no-kill rescue/sanctuary for all animals where no animal would ever be turned away for lack of space or age. She is married with a beautiful daughter (who also loves animals!) and has four cats of her own, all of which are rescues. She currently works as a registered nurse, specializing in the ER.
